Tennis Heads to ITA Atlantic Regional

NORFOLK, Va. - The Marshall University women's tennis team competes in its biggest tournament of the fall season as the Thundering Herd is at Old Dominion for the ITA Atlantic Regional, beginning Oct.21 and running through Oct.24.
Michaela Kissell leads the charge into ODU as the No.1 overall seed in the 64-player main draw. Sophomore Dominika Zaprazna is seeded 14th. The two will also pair up in doubles and enter the weekend tournament seeded third.
Thursday's round of 64 sees Kissell take on Sydney Grant of Richmond while Dominika Zaprazna is paired up against Caryssa Peretz of Virginia in first round action.
Also participating in singles, the Herd's Catherine Kellner is matched up with the fourth-overall seed in Emily Fraser of Virginia. Rounding out singles action for Marshall, Kristina Koprcina takes on Jordan Jenkins of Liberty.
Turning to doubles, Kissell and Zaprazna have a bye into the second round and will begin play on Friday, as will the ninth-ranked team of Kellner and Maria Voscekova who also have a first-round bye.
The ITA Atlantic Regional, beginning Thursday, will run through the championship matches on Sunday Oct.24. Updated brackets will be available by clicking here
