PACIFIC PALASAIDES, Calif. - Marshall University tennis duo Michaela Kissell and Dominika Zaprazna advanced in the first round of the qualifying stage at the ITA/Riviera All-American Championships and are now two wins away from advancing to the 16-team main draw.

In the most prestigious fall tennis tournament, and what is deemed as a preview for the spring NCAA Tournament, the No.2 seed in the qualifying bracket defeated Nebraska's tandem of Giebert/Winstein in relatively easy fashion, 8-4.

For Kissell and Zaprazna to make the main draw, the pair needs to win two matches on Wednesday, starting with Sacramento States' team of Delgado/Kapshai. If they get past Sac State, the Herd would play the winner of the Georgia Tech/UNLV matchup.

Kissell will also be participating in the main singles draw which begins on Thursday. Qualifying action continues Wednesday at the Riviera Tennis Club and continues through Oct. 10.
