HUNTINGTON - Marshall University's men's basketball season-ticket sales have reached their highest total in 14 years leading into Friday's season-opener against WVU-Tech in Huntington.
Marshall has sold 3,341 season tickets thus far, up from the 2,553 sold a year ago. The season ticket total is also the highest for the school since reaching the 3,455 mark in 1996.
"Season ticket sales have been very strong," Assistant Athletic Director Aaron Goebbel said. "Our lower bowl season tickets are nearly exhausted and we do not foresee having any lower bowl tickets available on a single game basis at this point."
Season tickets are still available in a variety of locations and in the new Herd Heaven general admission section. The Herd Heaven season tickets cost only $90 for all 18 Marshall home games and come with a free t-shirt. Fans can go online to www.Herdzone.com 24 hours a day or call 1-800-THE-HERD to order tickets.
"The majority of tickets that we will have on a single game basis will be general admission tickets, Goebbel said. "I strongly encourage fans to purchase season tickets in order to get the best available seat."
