Kissell Advances in Consolation Singles at NCAA Indoor Nationals

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. - After being knocked out of the NCAA Indoor Intercollegiate Championship main draw on Thursday, Michaela Kissell of the Marshall University tennis team rebounded in her consolation match Friday afternoon to advance to the consolation quarterfinals.
Kissell dropped the first set 6-4 to Venise Chan of Washington, but fought back to win the next two sets in dominant fashion, 6-1, 6-1 and rally for the win.
Marshall's No.1 will take on Brynn Boren of Tennessee Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m., and if she advances, will take on the winner of the Alabama/UNC match in the semifinals at 2:30 p.m.
