PISCATAWAY, N.J.- The Marshall University diving squad concluded its season at the NCAA Zone A Championships held at Rutgers University Saturday afternoon.
In the one meter preliminaries, held on Friday, Lauren Rone was tops on the MU squad with a 34th place finish with a score of 187.05. Rachel Hannum was close behind in 35th, with a score of 186.50. Haley Holmquist tallied 172.40 points to finish 41st in the event.
"All three girls did an outstanding job this weekend," said diving coach Jim Zagaria. "I am very proud of what they have accomplished this season."
On Saturday, Holmquist came back to post an impressive 19th-place finish in the three meter with a score of 226.35; just missing a finals-qualifying score by 0.5 points.
"Haley had a great three meter list today; she was very constant," said Zagaria.
Hannum came in 32nd with a score of 198.45, while Rone finished in 36th with 185.95 points.
"Rachel was very consistent on both boards and I think ending her diving career with Marshall at Zones is icing on the cake for a great diver and person," Zagaria said. "Lauren competed well and being at this meet as a freshman is a testament to her hard work in practice."
