Women's Basketball Announces Two Events

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University women's basketball team has announced two events set to take place over the next month.
On Thursday, April 29, the team will hold its annual banquet in the Memorial Student Center in room BE5, which is located in the basement of the building. Tickets are $25 for the event and those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP to Judy in the basketball office (304-696-5445) by Noon on Friday, April 23. The banquet will start at 6:30 p.m.
Former Marshall coach Sarah Evans-Moore will serve as the speaker at the banquet. Evans-Moore coached the Herd from 1992-97, winning the Southern Conference Championship in 1997 with a 77-69 win over Georgia Southern.
"We are excited to bring Sarah Evans-Moore back to Huntington," head coach Royce Chadwick said. "We hope that what she has to say helps our returning players while giving the seniors a boost."
A week later on May 6, the team will hold its annual Celebrity Chef Auction. The auction will be held at American Legion Post 177 in Barboursville.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. with refreshments being served at that time. The auction will begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the Celebrity Chef event are available for $10.
