Marshall Women's Basketball Adds Signee

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University women's basketball coach Royce Chadwick has announced the signing of Brittney Turner to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Thundering Herd next season.

The 6-1 forward will begin her freshman season at Marshall next year. The Louisville, Ky. native played at Fairdale High School.

"Brittany will accentuate our up tempo style with her running ability. She does not have a large frame but she is a prolific shot blocker and scorer from the high post," Chadwick said. "She will make plays on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Brittany has a huge upside, as her body strengthens and develops, so will her game."

As a senior last year at Fairdale, Turner averaged 14.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game while blocking an average of 3.6 shots per contest.
