HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Swimming and Diving head coach Russell Hunt released the addition of Katie Moore to the Marshall University staff on Tuesday afternoon.
"Anytime you can bring together leaders who feel comfortable with success and excellence, like Katie, the team benefits," said Hunt. "Katie has a wealth of experience that we welcome here at Marshall."
Moore will serve as the assistant swimming coach starting with the 2010-11 season. She comes to the Thundering Herd after working a one-year stint as an assistant at Mount Union College. While there, she implemented the team's strength program and helped coach the Raiders to an Ohio Athletic Conference Runner-Up, nine school records, 15 All-OAC swimmers and two OAC individual champions. Moore was elected to the Ohio Athletic Conference's Women's Coaching Staff of the Year in 2010.
"I know she will play an integral role in the success of our program and I look forward to the start of the upcoming season," Hunt said.
The Lancaster, Ohio, native was a four-year letterwinner at Kenyon College where she was a NCAA national qualifier and helped lead the Ladies to three NCAA team championship titles. Moore, a 2009 graduate in American Studies, was also named an Honorable Mention Academic All-American.
