Herd Concludes Day 2 of Wake Forest Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Thundering Herd women's tennis team has concluded the second day of the Wake Forest Fall Invitational.
Dominika Zaprazna fell 6-4, 7-5 to No. 1 seed Alex Bara of VCU in Saturday's A Flight semifinal match. The junior will now play in the third place match at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday against Missouri's Maria Christensen.
Fellow herdswoman Kristina Koprcina met a similar fate, falling in the semifinal of the C Flight 6-1, 6-0. Koprcina will also play in a third place match at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Kara Kucin advanced to the finals of the D Flight after walking over UNC-Wilmington's Alyssa Ritchie for a 10:00 a.m. final showdown with No. 3 seed Giovanna Portioli of Winthrop.
No. 2 seed Ellie Ball of the E Flight similarly advanced to the finals of her bracket, defeating Briana Bern of Elon in 6-0, and 6-2 sets. The freshman will now play in a 10:00 a.m. final match against Ekin Gunaysu of Winthrop.
In doubles competition, Zaprazna and Voscekova have carried their No. 4 seed all the way to the final of the A Flight, where they will battle ETSU's Kedzo and Jaime at 9:00 a.m. Karli Timko and Ellie Ball have also advanced to the finals of the C Flight, and will battle UNC-Greensboro's Sutherland and Falcon at 9:00 a.m.
