Women's Basketball Signee Earns All American Honors

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's basketball signee Jasmine Shaw earned WBCA All-American first team honors during her second season at Chipola College in Marianna, Fla.
The 5-6 guard also snagged All-Region 8 first team and All-Pan-Handle Conference first team accolades. The Cincinnati, Ohio native scored 448 points on the season, averaging 16 points per game and over 4.5 rebounds per game.
Shaw, who redshirted her first season with the Lady Indians, shot 45.0 percent from beyond the arc and 72.0 percent from the charity stripe helping her squad to a 19-11 record. Chipola reached as high as No. 11 nationally during the year and concluded the 2010-11 campaign ranked 23rd.
"We are so very excited that Jasmine has been recognized as one of the best players in the country as an All American," head coach Royce Chadwick said. "We cannot wait for her to bring her talents to the Herd this fall. She is an impact player!"
