William "Granvel" Dilley, a former Marshall athlete (swimming and diving) in the late 70's (1976 and 1977) is this week's Big Green Donor of the week.

Dilley re-joined the Big Green through The Greenbrier Classic promotion that was held in late July, and ultimately won the grand prize by becoming the person who joined or increased their pledge the most.

Dilley, who stopped in to the office and shared many of his memories with M Club Director Travis Epling, feels that "now is the time to give back" and repay his scholarship to Marshall.

Here are just a few of Dilley's favorite Marshall memories:

Favorite Marshall Athlete - Chad Pennington, because as Dilley say's, "he's just a classy guy!" He is a great ambassador to the program and I really enjoyed watching him play while he was here. He will do well in anything he does.

Favorite Marshall Moment - Probably watching Bunny Gibson score 50 points in a game against Louisville in the old memorial field house with Stu Aberdeen as coach.

Why do you give to the Big Green - In addition to it being "time" for Dilley he also contributed because of his family roots to Marshall. His brother-in-law played football in the early 70's and his wife Patricia was a majorette, so needless to say, Marshall Athletics have been around Dilley for quite a while.
