Women's Basketball Welcomes UAB

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's basketball looks to break a six-game losing streak with a game against UAB on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET in the Cam Henderson Center.
The Thundering Herd has a 6-11 (0-4 C-USA) record after taking a 71-63 loss to Houston this past Sunday. Suporia Dickens went in the Marshall record books during the game after grabbing 17 rebounds. The total ranks No. 18 in Marshall women's basketball history for rebounds in a game.
The Herd is led by Shay Weaver, who totals 10.5 points per game and is ranked in the top-50 nationally for three-pointers made per game, earning 2.59 per contest. Chukwuka Ezeigbo leads the Herd on the boards, averaging 6.1 rebounds per game.
UAB holds a 12-5 (3-1 C-USA) record and is coming off a 63-53 loss to Memphis on Thursday. The Blazers boast one of the best defenses in the country, ranking No. 33 in scoring defense. UAB is limiting opponents to just 53.4 points per game.
Amber Jones leads the Blazers with 13.5 points per game, while Karisma Chapman and Ashley Grimes each are averaging double-digit point totals as well. Chapman ranks No. 34 in the NCAA for steals with 3.18 per game, while Grimes is shooting 44.3 percent from the field.
After first meeting on December 18, 1995, Marshall leads the all-time series, 9-8. Marshall and UAB split the two contests played last season, each taking wins on the opposing team's court.
