HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -Marshall's swimming and diving team ended the two-day meet between Old Dominion and Radford in a draw, Saturday.

The Thundering Herd stretched its winning record against Radford to 12-0 with a 228-134 final tally, and dropped its first meeting against Old Dominion with a score of 201-148.

"We had some people show some fight today," coach Bill Tramel said. "Our race execution still isn't there, but we are moving in the right direction."

Senior Sarah Kay (Cape Town, South Africa) and freshman Teel Hartmann (Louisville, Ky.) had the Herd's two victories of the day. The veteran clocked a 59.22 in the 100 butterfly, while the rookie posted a 4:37.11 for the triumph in the 400 individual medley- Kay finished in second (4:37.25).

"We have some work to do in the next couple of weeks, before we rest for the Zippy Invite in Akron," Tramel concluded. "The Zippy is our focus for this first semester and should be a good measure of where we are moving forward."

The Herd will swim once more in 2013. The Zippy Invitational, a three-day meet, will be held in Akron, Ohio, Dec. 6-8.
