Marshall has Successful Showing in Final Fall Tournament

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Marshall tennis completed day three of the College of Charleston Halloween Challenge in its last fall tournament Sunday at the CofC Tennis Center in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
In singles action, sophomore Dana Oppinger (Weingarten, Germany) defeated Evy Van Genechten of Denver (6-4, 6-3). Senior Karli Timko (Houston, Pa.) lost to Lilly Kimbell of Georgia (6-3, 6-3) while junior Kai Broomfield (Toronto) lost a decision (6-2, 6-3) to Kelly Kambourelis of CofC . Freshman Rachael Morales (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) lost to Mia King of Georgia (6-1, 6-0) while fellow freshman Anne Gulsrud (Stavernger, Norway) lost to Katherine Schofield of CofC (6-2, 6-2).
In Flight 1, the Oppinger and Timko duo defeated Caroline Schnell and Sonji Radosevic of Denver (8-4). In Flight 2, Broomfield and Morales dropped an (8-2) match to Lauren Herring and Maho Kowase of Georgia.
Marshall tennis will start it's spring season in the UVa Invitational on Jan. 17-19 in Charlottesville, Va.
