McMillan, Timpano Join Herd's Compliance Staff

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall Associate Athletic Director for Compliance Andrew Donovan announced Sunday that John McMillan and William Timpano have joined the Thundering Herd’s compliance services staff.
McMillan has been hired as Assistant Compliance Director, while Timpano is Marshall’s Compliance Graduate Assistant.
McMillan spent the past year at Texas State University as the NCAA Compliance Administrator in the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Prior to Texas State, he served as an intern in the compliance office at Middle Tennessee State University for seven months. He previously interned in the compliance office at Mississippi State Universit,y where he received his Master's degree in Sport Administration in December 2011.
A native of Paragould, Ark., he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in History from Mississippi State in August 2010. A two-year letter winner on the Bulldogs’ football team, he was a walk-on from 2006-2008 before earning a scholarship in 2009.
Timpano earned his bachelor’s degree in History from SUNY Cortland in May 2013. As an undergrad, he gained experience in several areas of athletics at the collegiate and professional levels.
Throughout his junior and senior years at Cortland, Timpano performed operations and facilities duties for the Red Dragons’ varsity, club and intramural teams as student supervisor of the Cortland Stadium Complex. He worked in a similar capacity for the athletics department at Mohawk Valley Community College from August 2009-May 2011. Timpano also interned with the New York Jets at the team’s 2012 summer training camp in Cortland, where he worked in operations and public relations.
A native of New Hartford, N.Y., Timpano is pursuing a master’s degree in Sport Administration at Marshall.
