HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- Maggie Stovall of Signal Mountain, Tenn. has signed a National Letter of Intent with Marshall University, Head Coach Bill Tramel announced today. Stovall currently attends The Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn. The Baylor School, coached by Dan Flack, has long been considered one of the top high school swimming programs in the U.S.

"Dan (Flack) produces Division I caliber swimmers every year at Baylor," Herd coach Bill Tramel said. "Mikaya Reynolds, a current sophomore here at Marshall, is a Baylor School grad."

Stovall was named a 2014 High School All-American as a member of the 200 Freestyle Relay. She was also a Scholastic All-American in 2013 while also a member of the 2013 Southeastern Zone team. Her top times include 52.14 in the 100 freestyle, 1:53.15 in the 200 free, 5:05.77 in the 500 free, 10:22.00 in the 1000 free, 58.63 in the 100 butterfly and 4:32.00 in the 400 IM.

"Maggie will be able to help us right away on relays," Tramel said. "Her mid-distance freestyle times are also already within scoring range at Conference USA Championships. Most importantly, we know we are getting a top-shelf person who values academics as much as hard work in the pool. She's a Baylor kid. You achieve a certain understanding of success when you graduate from there. That is the balance we look for in recruiting, and we are thrilled to have Maggie make what should be a seamless transition into our program next fall."

Stovall is Marshall Swimming's first signee for the Class of 2019.
