Marshall game captains versus UAB, as chosen by Coach Doc Holliday and his staff, are Offense: Rakeem Cato, QB; Chris Jasperse, C; Defense: James Rouse, DT; Neville Hewitt, LB. Cato and Jasperse share the team-high with seven game captaincies this season. Rouse has six.
The Herd defense's "tribute" to injured linebacker Evan McKelvey has senior cornerback Darryl Roberts - who usually wears No. 7 - wearing McKelvey's No. 31 today versus UAB. McKelvey suffered a season-ending knee injury in the win at Old Dominion on Oct. 4.
Senior C Chris Jasperse made his team-leading 50th career start (every game he's played at MU), tied for most among active offensive linemen in FBS. QB Rakeem Cato (1,671 pass attempts) surpassed Chris Redman (1,679, Louisville, 1996-99) for No. 2 in C-USA history in career pass attempts.

WR Tommy Shuler's first quarter touchdown reception extended his streak of consecutive games with a reception to 38 (streak started in 2011 Beef O Brady's Bowl); which ranks tied for the ninth-longest active streak in FBS.
WR Tommy Shuler's first quarter touchdown reception tied Cody Slate, Josh Davis and Tim Martin for No. 7 on Herd career list for touchdown receptions at 23. At 24, tied for fifth, are Troy Brown and Aaron Dobson.
WR Tommy Shuler (287 catches) has passed Emmanuel Sanders (285 at SMU, 2006-09) for No. 5 in receptions in C-USA history.
RB Devon Johnson has nine 100-yard rushing games (171 against UAB), the Herd major college record. The overall school record for 100-yard games in one season is 10, set by Chris Parker three times (1993, '94, '95).
Marshall became the third C-USA team in league history (1996-present) to start 11-0. Tulane in 1998 went 12-0 for season. In 2011, Houston started 12-0, lost C-USA title game to SoMiss, then won the TicketCity Bowl for 13-1 record.
RB Devon Johnson (1,573 yards) ranks 4th in single-season rush yardage in Herd history. He passed Ron Darby (1,506 in 1987) for No. 5 and Ahmad Bradshaw (1,523 in 2006) for No. 4.
