@Herd_Tennis To Conclude Fall Season This Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall tennis will conclude its 2014 fall season this weekend, as the team travels to Charleston, S.C., for the College of Charleston Challenge.



HAVE YOU HERD?



The Herd was last in action in mid-October, when senior Kai Broomfield (Toronto, Canada) and sophomore Derya Turhan (Bad Salzuflen, Germany) participated in the ITA Atlantic Regional in Blacksburg, Va.



Turhan made it to the round-of-16 in singles action before falling to the No. 1 seed 6-0, 6-1,

while Broomfield was defeated 6-2, 6-3 in the round-of-32.

All seven members of the Herd squad will compete this weekend; sophomores Anne Gulsrud (Stavenger, Norway), Rachael Morales (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and Anna Pomyatinskaya (Sochi, Russia) and freshmen Marija Bogicevic (Belgrade, Serbia) and Maddie Silver (Grand Rapids, Mich.) will join Broomfield and Turhan in competition.



SCOUTING THE COMPETITION



In addition to the College of Charleston, Marshall will face teams from Georgia and Georgia State.



Georgia sports two players ranked in the Top 10 in the nation for singles, who pair up for a Top 10 spot in doubles as well.



THE SCHEDULE



On Friday, Marshall will face the College of Charleston in doubles and Georgia in singles.



Saturday will pit the Herd with Georgia State in pairs and the College of Charleston for singles.



Marshall will wrap up things Sunday, facing Georgia in doubles and Georgia State in singles.
