HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall's AJ Johnson (Silver Spring, Md.) tied the school record for 3-pointers made in a single game with six in a thrilling comeback victory at Norfolk State, on Tuesday at Echols Hall. The Herd trailed by 13 with 15:27 remaining in the second half and went on to win, 73-71, on the road.
A HERD WIN WOULDââ'¬Â¦

- Keep Marshall unbeaten at neutral sites this season, moving to 2-0
- Be Marshall's first against the Mountaineers since Jan. 11, 2005
- Snap a nine-year losing streak against West Virginia
- Prevent Marshall's longest losing streak in the series history (10 games)
- Be the Herd's first against West Virginia under coach Matt Daniel
- Be the Marshall's seventh all-time against West Virginia in Charleston
MOUNTAIN STATE MATCHUP
Saturday's meeting will mark the 54th all-time between the Herd and Mountaineers, continuing the longest-running series for Marshall. This year will mark the fourth time in the series that the Herd faces a ranked WVU, with the last time being Jan. 19, 2011, versus the No. 9 Mountaineers, a 78-21 loss. Marshall has never defeated a ranked WVU team.
LAST YEAR'S CLASSIC
In the teams' last meeting at the Capital Classic, Marshall fell in an 82-51 decision to West Virginia on Dec. 14, 2013. Norrisha Victrum (Columbia, S.C.) led the Herd with 13 points, and the team was without leading rebounder Chukwuka Ezeigbo (Trenton, N.J.) due to a family emergency.
