HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's basketball (6-3, 0-0 C-USA) will host Brescia (5-7, 0-0 KIAC) for the first time at Cam Henderson Center to begin a three-game home stand for the Thundering Herd on Monday at 1 p.m.

HAVE YOU HERD?
Despite a second half which saw Marshall outscore No. 22/18 West Virginia, 38-35, the Thundering Herd fell in a 69-56 decision at the 24th Annual Chesapeake Energy Capital Classic at the Charleston Civic Center on Saturday in front of a crowd of 2,421. Marshall's Leah Scott (Detroit) and West Virginia's Lanay Montgomery were named Most Valuable Players of the Capital Classic. Scott ended with 15 points, along with team-highs of nine rebounds, three assists and five steals.
A HERD WIN WOULD...
- Be Marshall's first against Brescia, giving the Herd a 1-0 lead in the series
- Give the Herd its best record since 2011-12 (7-3)
- Give Marshall its longest home win streak since 2011-12 (4-0, from Jan. 8 - Feb. 16, 2012)
RISING RPI
With credit to four wins away from Huntington and a matchup with No. 22/18 West Virginia, the Herd's RPI ranks No. 69 entering Monday's game against Brescia. However, non-Division I games do not figure into RPI calculations.
CAN'T HOLD US DOWN
Marshall is one of two Conference USA teams yet to register a losing streak this season, along with Old Dominion (6-3). The Herd is 2-0 in games following a loss this year.
FROM DOWNTOWN
The Herd is tied for the lead in Conference USA with 7.0 made 3-pointers per game, along with Florida Atlantic. Marshall has two players ranked in the league's top-10: AJ Johnson (Silver Spring, Md.) at No. 2 with 2.6 per game and McKenzie Akers (Princeton, W.Va.) tied for seventh with 1.9 per game.
