Israeli National Champion Signs for Marshall

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Shir Wasserman, a member of the Israeli National Team and Israel's National Champion has signed with Marshall University, head coach Bill Tramel announced today.
Wasserman competes for the Maccabi Kiriat Ono Swim Club in Israel. She was the 2013 Israeli National Champion in the 200 Butterfly.
"Adding Shir to an already strong recruiting class is very exciting," Tramel said. "Shir will be an immediate impact swimmer in multiple events in Conference USA. I coached Shir's teammate, Nadav Kochavi, at the University of Minnesota. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with another talented Israeli athlete of similar work ethic and first class character."
Wasserman's best times converted from meters to yards equal 55.93 in the 100 Butterfly and 2:02.04 in the 200 Fly.
"I'm very excited about my decision," Wasserman said. "Swimming at the collegiate level was my dream since I was little. I'm ready to work hard and join the Marshall swimming program next fall. Go Herd!"
Wasserman is the fifth member of the swimming and diving class of 2019.
