HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Searching for its first home conference win, Marshall women's basketball (9-5, 1-2 C-USA) will host FIU (3-11, 0-3 C-USA) on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Cam Henderson Center.

HAVE YOU HERD?
A season-low shooting performance of 29.9 percent from the field hindered Marshall in a 74-56 loss to Charlotte (Jan. 10) at Halton Arena. AJ Johnson (Silver Spring, Md.) was the lone Herd scorer in double figures with 17 points on 5-of-16 from the field and 1-of-5 from 3-point range. Norrisha Victrum (Columbia, S.C.) had nine points, with Chukwuka Ezeigbo (Trenton, N.J.) close to a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds.

A HERD WIN WOULD...

  • Give Marshall its best record (10-5) since 2011-12, when it went 12-5 to begin the season
  • Give the Herd its best start (2-2) to the conference season since 2011-12, when it went 3-1
  • Be Marshall's first against FIU
  • Tie the Herd's most wins in a regular season under coach Matt Daniel (10)

EZEIGBO TOPS THE NATION
Per the NCAA national rankings, Marshall's Chukwuka Ezeigbo (Trenton, N.J.) leads the nation with a 67.3 field goal percentage (72-of-107). She holds a 10-percent margin atop Conference USA, with the next highest mark being 57.3 (75-of-131) by Cheyenne Parker of Middle Tennessee.

THUNDER VS. SUNSHINE
The Herd will host a pair of teams from the Sunshine State this week, starting with FIU on Thursday and Florida Atlantic on Saturday. Marshall is 11-14 all-time against teams from Florida.

  • Central Florida: 8-10
  • Florida A&M: 1-0
  • Florida Atlantic: 1-1
  • FIU: 0-2
  • USF: 1-1

UNDAUNTED
Marshall is the only Conference USA team yet to register a losing streak this season. The Herd is 4-0 in games following a loss.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN PANTHERS
FIU (3-11, 0-3) will look for its first Conference USA win when it visits Marshall on Thursday. The Golden Panthers list three double-figure scorers, led by Kiandre'a Pound's 15.0 points per game. FIU's rebounding defense (35.1/game) and rebounding margin (+6.4) each rank No. 1 in the league.

The Golden Panthers are unbeaten all-time against the Herd (2-0) Last season, the teams met for the first time since 2004-05, a 77-66 loss for Marshall in Miami (Feb. 22, 2014).
