HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall Thundering Herd swimming and diving team competed against stiff competition in its first meet in more than a month Friday in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Herd lost its meets against Michigan State 185-115 and lost to host Bowling Green 181-119.

Freshman Madi Pulfer (Ottowa, Ontario), won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:00.94. The win was Pulfer's first collegiate victory.
In diving, sophomore Megan Wolons had a career high in three meter diving, with a score of 248.05.
TRAMEL TALK
Head Coach Bill Tramel on Friday Meet:
"We did some good things tonight, but we need more people to get involved. Our freestylers were great, especially 200 and up."
"Madi really attacked the 500. I respect that aggressiveness as long as it's done smart and not over-swum. She did it smart and won her first collegiate event in doing so."
"Savannah won her first collegiate event with a beautiful executed race."
"We had great racing from Kacey Preun tonight & Teel Hartmann not only did the "Triple Crown" (1650 Free, 500 Free, 400 IM) but did it really well with 3 solid times."
"Some, not all, of our strokers have to be better. Our coaching staff has pointed out where we can be better, so now it is up to the athletes to follow through. The great thing is tomorrow morning we get another opportunity to be better."
