Senior center Chukwuka Ezeigbo (Trenton, N.J.) was two blocks away from a triple-double in a 67-61 win for Marshall over FIU on Thursday at Cam Henderson Center. Ezeigbo, who led the nation in field goal percentage prior to Thursday's contest (67.3 percent), finished 5-of-6 from the floor (83.3 percent) for 11 points and totaled career-highs of 15 rebounds and eight blocks. - Give the Herd its best start (3-2) to the conference season since 2011-12, when it went 3-2
- Give Marshall a 2-1 lead in the series with Florida Atlantic
- Total the most wins in a regular season for Marshall under coach Matt Daniel (11)
- Total the most conference wins in a season for Marshall under Daniel (4)
- Tie the most wins in an overall season for the Herd under Daniel (11)
EZEIGBO TOPS THE NATION

HERD MAKES HISTORY
Marshall's win over Florida Atlantic in the 2014 Conference USA Tournament first round (March 11, 2014) was the first time in C-USA history that a No. 16 team advanced. No. 12 USF in 2000 was the previous high seed (defeated No. 5 DePaul, 82-69). The 2013-14 Thundering Herd is believed to be the lowest seed to advance in any Division I conference tournament. The previous high was No. 13 Alabama in the 2013 SEC Tournament (defeated Mississippi State, 63-36).

SCOUTING THE OWLS
Florida Atlantic (8-7, 2-2) is looking to break a two-game slump after dropping its last two C-USA matchups against Middle Tennessee (Jan. 10) and (RV) Western Kentucky (Jan. 15) by a combined total of 181-112. The Owls top the league in free throw percentage (.754), but are last in scoring defense (74.7 points/game). Shaneese Bailey and Ali Gorrell lead the stat sheet for FAU with 17.0 and 15.3 points per game, respectively.
Last season, the Herd split the series with the Owls, dropping the first meeting on Feb. 26, 2014, in Huntington (87-68) and winning the second: a 80-73 victory in the first round of the C-USA Championship in El Paso, Texas (March 11, 2014).
