HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall matched its 2013-14 win total (11) in a defeat of Florida Atlantic, 66-59, on Sunday at Cam Henderson Center. Norrisha Victrum (Columbia, S.C.) posted a season-high 21 points while Leah Scott (Detroit) and Chukwuka Ezeigbo (Trenton, N.J.) provided double-doubles. The win marked the first time since 2009-10 that the Herd won a pair of C-USA victories at home on the same basketball weekend. On Jan. 8 and 10, 2010, Marshall downed UCF and Southern Miss, respectively.

A HERD WIN WOULDââ'¬Â¦

  • Give Marshall its best record (12-5) since 2011-12, when it went 12-5 to begin the season
  • Give the Herd its best start (4-2) to conference play since 2008-09, when it went 5-2
  • Keep Marshall unbeaten in the series with UTSA (2-0)
  • Total the most season wins (12) and conference season wins (4) for the Herd under coach Matt Daniel (12)

GREAT SCOTT!
Senior forward Leah Scott (Detroit) became the first Herd women's basketball player to be named Conference USA Player of the Week twice in one season when she earned the honor on Monday. She is the eighth player all-time to earn the weekly award. Scott received this season's first C-USA Player of the Week accolade after Marshall went 2-0 at the URI Tipoff Tournament, where she earned Most Valuable Player honors (Nov. 17).

Prior to this season, the last player to earn the award was Tynikki Crook in 2010. Only two other Marshall players have earned the honor more than once in a career: Modupe Ishola (twice, 2005 & 2007) and Crook (three times, 2008, 2010 x2).

EZEIGBO TOPS THE NATION
Since Jan. 4, per NCAA national rankings, Chukwuka Ezeigbo (Trenton, N.J.) has held the nation's highest Division I women's basketball field goal percentage. She leads the country with a 68.3 clip (82-of-120) and holds an 11.2-percent margin atop Conference USA, with the next highest mark being 57.1 (80-of-140) by Cheyenne Parker of Middle Tennessee.

LONE STAR SHOWDOWNS
The Herd will hit the road this week for a pair of games in Texas against UTSA (Jan. 22) and UTEP (Jan. 24). Marshall will return to the Lone Star State when it visits Rice (Feb. 5) and North Texas (Feb. 7). Marshall is 23-30 all-time against teams from the Texas, and is 11-17 when playing there.

So far in conference play, the Roadrunners have taken two opponents to overtime, but fell in both contests (Rice, Jan. 2, and Southern Miss, Jan. 8). Kamra King leads the team in scoring (13.6 per game) and assists (2.2 per game), and Mannasha Bell is pulling down a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game.

Last year, the Herd met the Roadrunners for the first time when it won, 81-76, in overtime on Senior Night at Cam Henderson Center (March 5, 2014).
