Head Coach Matt Daniel Opening Statement:
We found a way to win the game against a good and well coached team and a veteran, savvy team. Now, Saturday we turn to Louisiana Tech, who starts five seniors and is athletic all over the floor. I'm very familiar with their roster, because two of their kids come from Arkansas. They have a young head coach by the name of Summitt. It is not Pat, but Pat might be in the building. I don't have any idea, but whatever it takes to get you in the building.
On Difference From Last Season to this Season
We aren't taking ourselves too seriously. We didn't hoot and holler in the dressing room after the win tonight. We have to get fresh legs and get ready for another good team on Saturday. The more success you have, the bigger ball games you're involved in and it becomes the norm. It's amazing how good it is to feel normal. There's not an excessive amount of thrills and chills in that locker room. It's a feeling of this being what normal feels like, because it's been awhile.
Guard AJ Johnson on Shooting
Our coaches just tell us keep shooting and don't worry about the ones that you miss. Just keep shooting and the next one is going to go in. They just tell us not to look back and keep pushing forward.
Guard McKenzie Akers on Not Dwelling on Missed Shots
We can't just get our heads down about one shot, because that could affect everything else. It was a tight game throughout and if we're worried about offense, we'd struggle on defense and we just went on to the next play.
