Wolons Earns C-USA Diver of the Week

Wolons finished 11th in the platform event.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University diving junior Megan Wolons (Williamsburg, Va.) has been named the Conference USA Diver of the Week, the league office announced today.

Wolons was the key diver for Marshall in the Herd's victories against Cincinnati and VMI on Friday, and receives the award for the first time.

The junior won the 3-meter event with a score of 260.70. She then finished runner-up in the 1-meter event, posting a score of 241.35.

The Thundering Herd opened its home season with an impressive upset victory over Cincinnati, defeating the Bearcats 126-117. The Herd also topped VMI 125-20.

Marshall swimming and diving is back in action this Friday and Saturday in Davidson, N.C., facing Davidson and Old Dominion. Friday's event starts at 6 p.m. and Saturday's competition begins at 10 a.m.
