More Records Broken For @HerdSwimming

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall's 200 Freestyle Relay broke the school record by 2 seconds tonight at the C-USA Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. The relay of Danica Ross, Lauren Hurd, Lauren Cowher, and Gloriya Mavrova combined for a time of 1:32.77 for fourth place.
Earlier in the evening, Madi Pulfer reset the 500 Freestyle record she set in preliminaries, dropping another 3 seconds with a time of 4:49.19 to finish 5th in the event. Haley Gregory was 12th with a 4:54.72 and Savannah Ruedt was 13th in 4:55.49.
The following event had a similar result. This time, freshman Nele Albers reset the school record she had set in preliminaries, moving up to finish 7th with a new record time of 2:02.13. Fellow freshman Emma Lockyer finished 16th with a 2:06.99.
The 50 Freestyle continued the trend, with Danica Ross resetting her record while tying for 4th in a time of 23.04. That was the 4th time Ross has reset her own record during her Marshall career. Gloria Mavrova was 10th in a time of 23.44 and Lauren Hurd finished 15th in 23.72.
Marshall Divers got in on the fun, with two finalists. Senior Casey Kyriacopoulos finished 6th, Megan Wolons was 7th, Kelly Toner finished 11th and Chloe Jones was 15th.
Marshall is currently in fourth place, 23 points out of third.

Marshall Coach Bill Tramel on Meet:
"Another great night. We always talk about getting the job done in the morning and then having fun at night. We certainly did that. Another school record in the 200 Free Relay makes us 7 for 7. Really remarkable. But I think the story of the day has to be our divers really coming through with big points."
"This was our weakest day and we have lots of swims tomorrow, and more diving. We are performing fantastic. If we keep our focus, I have no reason to think we won't continue enjoying our success tomorrow."
