Swimming and Diving Qualifies Nine for Finals

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall qualified 9 swimmers for the Finals tonight at the C-USA Championships. As has been the norm the entire meet, another school record was broken. This time, Nele Albers, who has already broken the 200 Freestyle and 200 IM school records, broke the 400 IM school record in qualifying 3rd with a time of 4:20.53. Fellow freshman Emma Lockyer qualified 8th in 4:23.92 and right behind was Kacey Preen in 9th with a Lifetime Best time of 4:23.96. Teel Hartmann also advances in the number 13 slot.
The 100 Butterfly saw Chloe Parsemain qualifying 11th in the second fastest time in Marshall history. Parmesan's 55.44 was a Lifetime Best. Gloriya Mavrova just missed qualifying, coming in 17th but achieved a Lifetime Best time of 56.31. Also competing, Katie Kramer performed a Lifetime Best as well with a 57.33.
Marshall advances two swimmers in the 200 Freestyle. Made Pulfer qualified 10th in a Lifetime Best time of 1:50.02 and Savannah Ruedt was 15th, also with a Lifetime Best. Kaley Gregory finished 18th in 1:52.58. Also performing in the event were Rachael Depietro with a Lifetime Best 1:53.06, Bree Mury in 1:54.68, and Laura Bradley with a Lifetime Best 1:55.58.
Mikaya Reynolds advanced to the Championship Final of the 100 Breaststroke. Reynolds was 8th in preliminaries in 1:04.29. Also competing but not advancing were Alex Black, finishing 17th in 1:06.77 and Lauren Cowher, 19th in a Lifetime Best 1:07.47.
In the last event of the morning , Carin Ingram missed breaking Marshall's 9th school record by a mere three one-hundredths of a second. Ingram did have a Lifetime Best 56.22 in qualifying 13th. Also competing but not advancing were Rachael DePietro with a Lifetime Best 57.45, Bree Mury in 58.18, and Laura Bradley in a Lifetime Best 59.32.
