IRVING, Texas - Marshall University senior swimmer Katie Kramer (Naples, Fla.) has been named to the Conference USA All-Academic team, the league office announced today.
Kramer, an economics major with a 4.0 GPA, was Marshall University's selection for the Rhodes scholarship this year. This is Kramer's second nomination to the All-Academic team, having also been nominated in 2014. She is also a three-time recipient of both the C-USA Commissioner's Academic medal and the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
A stellar member of the Herd in and out the pool, Kramer competed in all 10 events on Marshall's schedule. In doing so, she attained one third place result during the 2014-2015 season and was also an integral part of the success Marshall's relay teams amassed this year.
Marshall Head Coach Bill Tramel, who has coached Kramer for the past three seasons, summed Kramer up as a vital member to the team and a permanent university mainstay.
We are very proud of everything Katie has accomplished here at Marshall," Tramel said. "She has been the best ambassador for our program, and Marshall University. Our team will miss Katie as she moves on to the next chapter of her life, but we know she will always be carrying the Marshall University flag."
Kramer and the Herd wrapped up the team's most successful overall team performance at the Conference USA Championships last weekend, finishing in fourth place overall.
