HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall men's basketball (7-16, 3-7) will look to carry its momentum into a home meeting with North Texas (9-12, 3-6) on Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET at Cam Henderson Center.

In addition to live tweets from @HerdMBB, live stats and live video will be available through HerdZone.com. The official live radio broadcast can be found on the Thundering Herd IMG Sports Network and College Sports Live.

HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall won its third in the last four games with a 69-55 defeat of Rice at Cam Henderson Center Thursday. With help from Ryan Taylor's (Indianapolis) fifth consecutive double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds) the Herd turned an early eight-point deficit into a defensive battle with Marshall coming out the victor. The Herd's offensive efficiency produced a season-high .529 shooting percentage, a best for Marshall against a Division I foe since a .590 night in a 96-78 triumph over UNC Wilmington on Nov. 23 last season.

A WIN WOULDââ'¬Â¦

  • Be the Herd's fourth in the last five games
  • Give Marshall a 2-1 advantage in the series versus North Texas
  • Give the Herd a three-game home win streak in C-USA play for the first time since 2012 (Feb. 1 vs. Tulane, Feb. 11 vs. East Carolina, Feb. 22 vs. Houston)
  • Give Marshall a perfect C-USA home basketball week for the first time since 2011 (Feb. 23 vs. Tulsa, Feb. 26 vs. SMU)

WELCOME BACK
Prior to Saturday's 7 p.m. tip-off versus North Texas, fans are invited to watch a game featuring Marshall men's basketball alumni at 4 p.m. with the purchase of a game ticket at Cam Henderson Center. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. Participating alumni include David Robinson, Josh Perkey, Walter Smittle, Romel Lynch, Kent Runyan, Chris Gray, Steve Zemba, Shawn Moore, Tim Dagostine, Mark Patton, Frank Martin, Phil Carter, Jim Odum, Dan Goheen, C.E. Wilson, Rodney Holden, Adam Zimmerman, George Lambros, Tex Williams, Reggie Giles, Dick Wildt and Raymond Frazier. Mike Korrigan and Terry Childers will serve as managers.

TAYLOR-MADE
The "hub" of the Herd, Ryan Taylor (Indianapolis), leads Marshall in scoring (15.2/game), rebounding (8.7/game) and blocking (0.8/game). He is No. 2 on the team with 2.9 assists per game, and has posted double-doubles in his last five consecutive outings. His 10 double-doubles on the year ranks No. 2 in Conference USA and No. 21 among all Division I men's basketball players.

1K CLUB
Marshall's 49 all-time 1,000-point scorers is tied for No. 12 among Division I men's basketball programs. Redshirt sophomore forward Ryan Taylor (Indianapolis) is well on his way to joining the elite group, with 746 points through just two years of play. With this season's addition of Marcus Paige, North Carolina tops the list at 71 players.

SCOUTING THE MEAN GREEN
North Texas (9-12, 3-6) corralled a .500 record over its past four games, and most recently lost to C-USA leader Western Kentucky, 65-59, Thursday. Despite the loss, the Mean Green coughed up the ball just ten times throughout the entire contest. The Hilltoppers of Bowling Green, Ky., went on a massive 25-5 first half run, but NT sixth man Armani Flannigan and his 14 points in just 20 minutes helped erase a 17 point lead. North Texas' first half and second half field goal percentage were also a dichotomy, as they shot 48.3 percent in the second half compared to 28.6 percent in the first half. Leading the team in scoring is Jordan Williams with 15.6 points per game. He is also the only player to start every game for the Mean Green this season.

The series between the Herd and the Mean Green is tied, with both teams owning one win a piece. Marshall last succumbed to North Texas 80-65 on Jan. 16, 2014, at home. The loss was North Texas' first ever C-USA win. Marshall has never defeated UNT in Cam Henderson Center, but ousted them 81-78 in Bloomington, Ind., on December 28, 1990.

The Herd gets a week's hiatus before hosting Western Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 14, 5:30 p.m. ET. The Valentine's Day game will be televised by American Sports Network. For all the latest information about Marshall men's basketball, follow @HerdMBB on Twitter.
