Quotes from head coach John Mercer

"Winthrop has always had a good team, so this is a good win. They have some good players and it was nice to see the girls come out and take care of business. Overall I feel like we played pretty well up and down the lineup. We had a little different lineup today, so it was nice to see players step up in places we needed them."

"I'm looking forward to our match against Rice. They've always been a tough opponent for us and I'm excited to see what our team can do."
