Senior Day to Highlight Final Tennis Homestand

HUNTINGTON, W. Va.--Marshall tennis (12-7) will host two ranked teams to conclude its home season, playing its first matches of the season at the Brian David Fox Center on campus in Huntington.

First, the Herd take on No. 38 DePaul Friday, April 3 at 4:00 p.m. The weekend will conclude when the Herd takes on No. 52 William and Mary Sunday, April 5 at noon.  Marshall will also host the DePaul vs. William and Mary face off Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m.

SENIOR DAY BBQ COOKOUT

The Herd will devote the day to honor lone senior Kai Broomfield (Toronto, Canada) during the Herd's match against DePaul.  

The match will feature a shrimp broil and BBQ cookout for the tennis boosters. Donations will be taken at the event, or they can be sent to:

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEMONS
DePaul (13-3) is on a five-match winning streak, coming off its most recent win over Long Beach State.  The team's only three losses were to--at the time--No. 22 Texas, No. 50 Harvard, and No. 8 Alabama.

No. 1 player Patricia Lancranjan holds a 9-6 record this spring. In doubles, Jasmin Kling consistently plays at the No. 1 spot with various partners. She posts an 11-4 record.

SCOUTING THE TRIBE
William and Mary is 12-4, winning its last two matches over Brown and St. John's. The Tribe will face DePaul before its face off with the Herd.

At No. 1 singles, Leeza Nemchinov is ranked No. 51 nationally  and holds 14-1, losing her only match to No. 22 Natalie Beazant of Rice in three sets.

In doubles, she and partner Jeltje Loomans are ranked No. 41 nationally and post a 12-3 record at the No. 1 spot.

UP NEXT
The Herd will have only two more regular season matches before the Conference Tournament. First, the Herd will travel to Norfolk to take on Conference USA foe No. 73 Old Dominion Friday, April 10. The team will then travel  to Richmond to take on VCU Saturday, April 11.
