Marshall Swimming and Diving Opens Road Schedule this Weekend

HUNGTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall swimming and diving opens its road schedule this weekend as the Herd competes against Illinois University and Michigan State on Friday at 6 p.m. Marshall will also face Saint Louis, Arkansas-Little Rock and McKendree University on Saturday at 10 a.m.

HAVE YOU HERD?
Last time out, Marshall claimed its first West Virginia State games title. The Thundering Herd dominated the event inside the Fredrick A. Fitch Natatorium in the Cam Henderson Center by winning 14 of the 20 events held during the two-day meet. Marshall set a new school record in points for a single meet and set a record for most point ever in the WV State Games, finishing with 1660 total points.

Freshman Catherine Bendziewicz turned in a dominate performance on day two of the WV State games by winning four events in the 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle and 200 breaststroke.

Marshall went undefeated in relays in its only competition this season. The Herd won the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 800 free relay, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.

UP NEXT
Marshall returns to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 29 in Oxford, Ohio against Miami (Ohio) and Bowling Green. The event is scheduled for 1 p.m.
