HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall swimming and diving travels north to Oxford, Ohio to compete against Miami (Ohio) and Bowling Green in a tri-meet on Saturday at 1 p.m. The meet will be held at the Corwin Nixon Aquatic Center.

HAVE YOU HERD?
The Thundering Herd is coming off an action packed weekend as it competed in two meets in two days. Last Friday, Marshall swam against the Big Ten's Michigan State and Illinois. On Saturday, the Herd faced Saint Louis, Arkansas-Little Rock and McKendree University.

The Herd held its own against Michigan State and Illinois. Marshall's 200 medley team of Sirena Rowe, Catherine Bendziewicz, Chloe Parsemain and Gloriya Mavrova took first place with a time of 1:45.00. Rowe also won the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.56 seconds, sixth-best time in Marshall history.

Marshall cruised by the competition in the quad-meet last Saturday by taking nine of the 14 events held. The Herd was perfect on the 1-meter diving board as it swept the event. Heather Lonkert finished with a score of 251.30. Kelly Toner was second with a score of 243.85 and Megan Wolons was third with a score of 232.25.

SCOUTING THE FIELD
Miami (Ohio) enters this weekend's tri-meet with a 2-1 overall record. The RedHawks have claimed wins over Wright State (Oct. 8; W, 190-51) and Xavier (Oct. 22; W, 180-82). Miami's lone setback came at Purdue (Oct. 21; L, 174-124). The RedHawks are led by Izzy Herb and Ella Moynihan. Herb won three events last weekend against the Boilermakers and Musketeers. Moynihan finished last week with four first-place finishes and two second-place finishes.

Bowling Green is coming off a dominating win (196-95) last Friday against the Toledo Rockets. The Falcons will compete at Xavier on Friday evening before jumping back into the pool Saturday against the Herd and RedHawks. BGSU won 13 out of 16 events against the Rockets.
