Herd Finishes Day 1 at MSU Spring Citrus Challenge

SORRENTO, Fla. - Redshirt freshman Sarfina Seretharan (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) posted the low score for Marshall women's golf on the first day of the Morehead State Spring Citrus Challenge at Red Tail Golf Club on Sunday.
Seretharan had a 6-over-par 78 to lead the Herd. Fellow freshman Ylva Forslund (Vreta Kloster, Sweden) was two strokes behind her at 8-over 80. The lineup, consisting of three freshman, one sophomore and one senior, finished the first 18 holes in a tie for 18th with Omaha at 322.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
Jacksonville State leads the team standings with a 4-over 292, two strokes ahead of a four-way tie between Ball State, WKU, Elon and Florida Gulf Coast (6-over 294). JSU's Valentina Giraldo sits in first place with a five-stroke lead on the individual side with a 7-under 65.
