HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Marshall men's soccer team is back on the road to take on the High Point Panthers Wednesday night at 7 p.m. from Vert Stadium.
HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall improved to 3-2 this season after winning its second consecutive game with a 1-0 decision over Appalachian State and Hoops Family Field. Freshman Alex Reyes scored his first career goal in the match. Five different players have knocked in goals this season for the Herd. Reyes joins, seniors Daniel Jodah and Trevor Starcher, and fellow freshmen Carlos Diaz-Salcedo and Paul Whitener.
Another freshman has recorded two straight shutouts in goal as Trevor Clemens has come in the net for Marshall. Clemens and the Herd defense have held tight in the two 1-0 wins to get Marshall back on the winning side in 2016.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
High Point is 3-0-1 this season with wins over East Tennessee State, St. Bonaventure and Loyola. The Panthers played to a 1-1 draw with Detroit. High Point has been at home for every game so far this season with the exception of its most recent match, a 3-1 win at Loyola. Seven different players have scored goals for the Panthers and the team is led by freshman Siggi Benonysson with four goals. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Keegan Meyer has played all 380 minutes this season for the Panthers and has allowed five goals while making 10 saves.
SERIES HISTORY
