HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall swimmer Sirena Rowe has been named the Conference USA Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

The freshman continued to impress this past weekend, as she won all four races that she competed in. The Charlotte, N.C., native set pool records in the 200 yard medley relay (1:43.77) and the 50 freestyle (23.23). She earned first place finishes in the 100 backstroke (56.22) and the 100 freestyle (52.53). Marshall earned its first ever win over Vanderbilt and has won three meets in a row.

"It's special when you win Athlete of the Week," head coach Bill Tramel said. "It's really special when you do it back-to-back. Sirena finished her first semester with a 4.0 GPA in exercise science, so she is also displaying characteristics of our team identity. Great students and great athletes."

This is Rowe's second C-USA Swimmer of the Week award and has now won it in consecutive weeks. The Thundering Herd has claimed the award three times this season, and earned C-USA Diver of the Week twice.
