SAN ANTONIO, Tx. - Brianna McCulloch led UTSA with 15 kills, eight digs and 17.5 points as the Roadrunners swept visiting Marshall 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-17) Sunday afternoon in the Convocation Center.

UTSA improved to 5-11 overall and 3-1 in Conference USA. Marshall dropped to 7-13 and 2-3 in the league.

Kara Teal had 12 kills and hit .688 for the home team, while Marijeta Runjic posted 10 kills. Amanda Gonzales chipped in 37 assists and 10 digs.

Marshall was led by Madison Hill's 11 kills and 12.0 points, followed by Jac'cara Walker's 10 kills and .429 hitting percentage. Madelyn Cole posted 21 assists and nine digs.

The Roadrunners hit .347 for the match, compared to Marshall's .163.

"It was a tough match," said Marshall coach Mitch Jacobs. "UTSA played lights out and we had no answers. We have big weekend coming up at home and we need to keep ourselves in the fight."

Marshall will be home next weekend with a Friday match against Rice at 6 p.m. and a 1 p.m. Sunday contest against Louisiana Tech.
