HUNTINGTON, W.Va. The annual Big Green Coaches Tour kicks off this week with the first of 11 stops. The Big Green, the fundraising arm of the Marshall athletic department, visits Cincinnati on Sunday, May 9 for golf and dinner.
That jumpstarts an eight-week tour, which includes the following stops: Lincoln County, May 12; Beckley, May 15; Lexington, Kentucky, May 16; Putnam County, May 18; Point Pleasant, May 26; The Greenbrier, June 2-3; Princeton/Bluefield, June 6; Logan, June 7; Parkersburg, June 8 and Washington, D.C., June 22.
"Our Marshall family has made a tremendous difference in how we are able to support our athletic program," Big Green Executive Director John Sutherland said. "The Coaches Tour is our way to bring our coaches back to our fan base to say `thank you' for their hard work and loyalty."
The Big Green at The Greenbrier event on June 1 is a very special time with Marshall coaches, staff and their families. A reception style dinner will be held Friday evening, and will feature Director of Athletics Mike Hamrick, football coach Doc Holliday and men's basketball coach Dan D'Antoni.
The Greenbrier features three all-inclusive packages: $950 for one night, $1,275 for two nights and $1,600 for three nights. The fees include hotel accommodations, dinner for two, couples registrations gifts and golf entry for one. All packages can be customized for you by the Greenbrier staff and Big Green.
There are also individual packages available, including a golf-only package that is $325/player for golf tournament entry for one, tee gifts and lunch. There is a tennis-only option for $75 that includes round-robin tennis for one, a gift and lunch. For the dinner only, the cost is $150 per person.
