BRIE'S WORDS OF WISDOM
Seize every opportunity to get better
Always focus on doing the little things right
Playing with 100% effort at all times
DAY IN THE LIFE
I typically wake up around 7:30 a.m. and go to eat breakfast in the cafeteria. Then I head off to class around 8 or 9:30 a.m., depending on the day. After class, I have practice, weights and catch-up with the coaches in their office about academics, life, and basketball until around 3 p.m. Then, I will grab something quick to eat and head to the Buck Harless Student-Athlete Academic Center to do homework, study with friends, or have tutoring. After that, I'll grab some dinner and cozy up in bed watching Netflix or hangout with my friends.
COLLEGE TRANSITION
Some challenges that freshmen face include time management. I overcame this issue by sitting down every Sunday and outlining my week with class, practices, tutoring, assignments and everything else in between. This helped me a lot by allowing me to see everything that was ahead of me for the week and made me not become overwhelmed by everything that happens in such a short period of time. My teammates also come in handy with this a lot. Everyone holds each other accountable so we make sure that we are getting everything that we need to get done.
CHERISHED MEMORIES
My most memorable moments thus far with The Herd include team gatherings at Talequia's house, ordering pizza and just hanging out with everyone off of the court! Another highlight that always brings a smile to my face is our singalongs in the weight room when everyone would start to sing Chris Brown. Also before games, we all make beats in the locker room before the coaches come in. It's always a good laugh for all of us!!!
