HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall drops the second session of the two-day meet with Liberty University by the final score of 251-200.
The day was highlighted by Catherine Bendziewicz winning the 100 Freestyle in a time of 52.56 seconds and the 200 Free in 1:53.29, while Maddie Young won, once again, on the 1-meter board with a score of 279.83. Darby Coles also won a separate 100 Freestyle race in 54.03 seconds.
"Catherine had a strong showing winning the 100 Free and Maddie Young had another great session on the boards," said Marshall head coach Ian Walsh. "The team responded well in the second session of our two-day meet. We talked about making adjustments, based on yesterday's performances and our women did a nice job of that," said Walsh.
"We swam a few different events today and got some people out of their comfort zones. Our distance group stood out as three of our four swimmers that competed in the event yesterday, improved today."
Marshall also picked up wins in the 50 Backstroke by Raeleigh Mooij (27.38), 50 Backstroke by Oda Gjerde (32.71) and a 400 Freestyle Relay triumph by Coles, Maggie Stovall, Angelica di Marzio and Caroline Wanner (3:37.86).
Coming up, the Thundering Herd will hit the road to take on Akron. The meet will contain three days of competition and begins Friday, Nov 30.
