Marshall Swimming and Diving Earns Two Athlete of the Week Awards

Walker and Young Shine for the Herd
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall's Swimming and Diving team continues to bring in awards after another week of competition. Both Elisha Walker and Maddie Young were named Conference USA Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, following impressive performances in last week's dual against Liberty University.
Young continued to shine for the Herd with her performances, earning a spot in the NCAA 1-meter Zone Diving Championship with a score of 271.36. That score also earned Young a first-place finish in last weekend's meet. This is her second weekly award of this season.
Elisha Walker earned her first Conference USA Swimmer of the week award. Walker won both the 500 Free (5:07.06) and the 1000 Free (10:27.78) on day one of competition. She then returned on day two to beat her 500 Free time by almost four seconds.
The Thundering Herd will hit the road to take on Akron. The meet will consist of three days of competition and begins Friday, November 30.
