Marshall wraps up meet Sunday
AKRON, Ohio -- Eight Marshall swimmers advanced to the evening session of the second day of competition in the Zippy Invitational at the University of Akron on Saturday.
Heading into the final day of the meet, Marshall stands in fifth in the ten-team competition with 583 points.
"Today was our longest day with a lot of women swimming in multiple events," said Marshall head coach Ian Walsh. "They did a good job managing those swims and staying present throughout the meet. Maddie Young had a strong showing on the 3-meter board and Jordyn O'Dell swam into two 'A' finals tonight (100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke), which produced a lifetime best. Darby Coles and Maddie Schaffer both had lifetime-best swims in the 100 Backstroke, with Darby posting a 10th-best all-time performance."
"Tomorrow will be a short session, but we have some of our best events ahead of us. We look forward to finishing the meet strong and getting back to work next week."
Marshall will return to the Ocasek Natatorium on Sunday for the final day of competition.
Admission for each individual prelim session is $6, while tickets to each final session are $8. Results can be found on HerdZone.com at the completion of each day's events.
