HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - After playing its final home match of the season Thursday, the Marshall tennis team hits the road this weekend to finish the regular season. The Herd will play at defending Big South Conference champion Winthrop Saturday at 9 a.m.

A LOOK BACK: LIBERTY
Marshall honored seniors Stephanie Smith, Marija Bogicevic and Maddie Silver for their contributions to the Marshall tennis program prior to the last home match of the season, but Liberty spoiled the Herd's senior day plans with a 5-2 win. Smith and Bogicevic won their final home singles matches for the Herd to secure Marshall's two points.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Winthrop is the top program in the Big South yet again, leading the conference with a 15-4 record and an 8-0 record in Big South play. The Eagles have already secured the No. 1 seed in the Big South tournament, which they will host. Winthrop is led by Lauren Proctor, the No. 31 player in the nation and the ITA Carolinas Regional singles champion. Proctor has spent the majority of the year in the top 30 and has spent time in the doubles poll with partner Megan Kauffman.

SCHEDULE UPDATE
The Herd was originally slated to play two matches this weekend. Marshall's match at Georgia State, which was scheduled for Sunday at 9 a.m., has been canceled due to impending weather in the Atlanta area. The match will not be rescheduled.
