Women’s Tennis Adds Two to 2020 Signing Class

Gillar and Marsalkova join the Herd
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall women's tennis head coach John Mercer announced the addition of two student-athletes to the 2020 class with the signings of Nicol Marsalkova and Rieke Gillar on Thursday.
"We are very excited to have Rieke and Nicol join our program," Mercer said. "Both are awesome young ladies who are very good athletes with excellent international results. They will make an immediate impact on the strength of our team."
Gillar is a native of Lübbecke, Germany and is ranked 148th in Germany with a national junior ranking of 27th. She is currently club teammates with former Marshall tennis standout Derya Turhan on the team TC Blau-Weiss Halle.
Marsalkova hails from Svitavka, Czech Republic. She is the fifth-best junior in the Czech Republic with a national open ranking of 117
