Thundering Herd Takes Fourth at C-USA Swimming/Diving Championships

Marshall wraps up competition in Atlanta
ATLANTA – Marshall's Swimming and Diving program finished fourth at the 2019 Conference USA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Catherine Bendziewicz brought home yet another medal with a silver in the 100 Freestyle (49.55) in a time that ranked second all-time in school history. There were also some impressive performances from Darby Coles, who came in seventh (50.30), while Regan Raines finished 16th (51.80), Hannah Robins was 19th (51.91), Maggie Stovall 20th (52.13) and Raeleigh Mooij was 24th (53.18).
Jordyn O'Dell captured the bronze in the 200 Backstroke (1:58.45), setting a new school record and lifetime best in the process. Caroline Wanner placed fourth (1:59.08), moving up the program's all-time record book as well.
Marshall also took bronze in the 400 Freestyle Relay (Bendziewicz, Coles, Raines, O'Dell) and did so in 3:21.93.
Maddie Schaffer finished sixth in the 200 Butterfly (2:03.02), followed by Brittany Wilkerson in 22nd (2:12.67).
The Thundering Herd started strong with two great performances from Angelica Di Marzio, who finished eighth in the 1650 Freestyle (17:08.62) and Cara Martin, who nabbed 10th (17:09.43). Oda Gjerde (14th) finished in a time of 17:31.86.
Maddie Young wound up with a ninth-place finish in platform diving with a mark of 199.75 and Sarah McGlumphy recorded a 13th-place showing (152.80).
Rachel Hughes (19th, 2:22.80) and Justine Jagga (20th, 2:26.01) competed for the Thundering Herd in the 200 Breaststroke.
