Herd Swimming and Diving Finishes Fourth at C-USA Championships

O’Dell, Coles, relay earns medals
FULL RESULTS
ATLANTA- The Marshall University women's swimming and diving team continued to earn podium spots with Conference USA awards on the final day of the C-USA Championship meet on Saturday at the McAuley Aquatic Center at Georgia Tech.
Senior Jordyn O'Dell finished runner-up in the 200 Yard Backstroke event with a time of 1:58.65.
Junior Darby Coles placed third in the 100 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 49.44.
The relay team consisting of Coles, senior Catherine Bendziewicz, sophomore Regan Raines and O'Dell posted a third-place finish in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:22.96.
Overall, the Herd took fourth with a total score of 365.50 points.
Up next for the Herd, the team will travel to Cleveland, Ohio for the NIC Championships beginning March 12 through March 14.

"As a coaching staff we're incredibly proud of what we were able to accomplish this weekend. The resiliency they showed moving through each session was inspiring."
"We kicked off the session with our milers and they did an incredible job. Angelica Di Marzio finished her senior year with the highest career placing in the mile (7th). Our backstrokers did a phenomenal job. Or Tamir and Heather Sigmon placed 1-2 in the consolation final and Jordyn placing second overall for her 2nd individual medal. Darby Coles got her hand on the wall in a tough 100 Free final for a 3rd place finish and new school record. Nicole Rueff had a great race and now sits second all-time in the 200 Butterfly with her performance tonight. Madison Young placed 11th on the platform with the program's second-best all-time performance in the consolation final. She is headed to NCAA Zone Championships next week with Lauren Henderson."
"Our seniors have been instrumental in bringing this team together and have been so poised throughout the season. Taylor, Megan and I couldn't be more proud of this team. We have two more post season events over the next two weeks and we're looking forward to representing this athletic department and university at the highest level."
