Marshall Women’s Tennis Swept Saturday’s Doubleheader

The Herd defeated both Akron and WVSU on Saturday.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall (11-4) women's tennis swept Saturday with victories over Akron (2-6) and West Virginia State University (1-3) on Saturday at the Huntington Tennis Club.
The Herd kicked it off against Akron by sweeping the doubles round, going up 1-0. Anna Smith got it started in the singles round, giving the Herd the 2-0 lead. Madi Ballow followed her, 3-0 in favor of the Herd. Liz Stefancic closed the deal for the Herd.
The Herd played the match out and Daniela Dankanych, Jutte Van Hansewyck and Madison Riley all three dropped their matches.
Against WVSU, the Thundering Herd took the doubles. In this match, Kara Joseph played with teammate Stefancic.
Smith, Ballow, Stefancic, Dankanych and Riley each took singles victories over WVSU and went undefeated on the weekend.
