Thundering Herd bolsters roster

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall women's basketball head coach Tony Kemper announced Thursday that the program has added three student-athletes (Kennedi Colclough, Ksenija Mitric and Aarionna Redman) to its roster for the 2020-21 season.

Colclough, a Huntington native and graduate transfer from Stetson is a 6'0" forward from Crofton, Maryland and was an all-state player and four-year varsity starter at Arundel High School. She was also nominated to play in the McDonald's All-American Game in 2015. Colclough made an immediate impact at Stetson, earning Atlantic Sun Newcomer of the Week honors during December of her freshman season. She posted 26 games in double figures with six double-doubles for the Hatters, including a 23-point, 13-rebound performance in Stetson's win over Florida. Colclough is also the daughter of former Marshall football standout LaVorn Colclough.

Mitric, a 5'8" guard from Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, helped lead the Celje basketball club to the Slovenian championship in the under-17 and under-19 divisions in 2018 and a runner-up finish in 2019, when she led her league in assists. In each of those campaigns she averaged more than 15 points per game. She helped lead her team to the WABA (Women's Adriatic Basketball Association) title in 2017, with a second-place finish in 2018 and a Slovenian and Cup championship in 2019. While playing for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, she lead the group in scoring (10.3) and assists (3.1) at the FIBA under-16 Women's European Championship in 2016. In 2017, her 14.3 points per game was the team's second-highest average and her 4.3 assists were the championship's third-highest mark. In the under-18 division, she led her team in scoring in 2017 (11.1) and 2018 (10.1) and served as team captain in 2019, where she contributed 12.7 points and 2.3 assists per contest.

Redman, a 5'10" forward from Pickerington, Ohio, helped lead Pickerington Central to a state title as a sophomore and a state runner-up finishes in her junior and senior seasons. She also helped power the team to three Ohio Capital Conference and district championships and a regional championship on two occasions. As a senior, she was named honorable mention Division I All-Central District and to the OCC's District II second team. Away from basketball, she also competed in the shot put for Pickerington Central's track and field team.

"I am really excited about what these three student-athletes bring to our program," said Kemper. "Kennedi is coming to us as a successful Division I front line player. She will provide immediate help as a versatile forward in our system. Ksenija is a scoring guard that has been a playmaker for both her club team and her national team in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She can play effectively on or off the ball and will be a very good fit for how we like to play. Aari comes from one of the most successful high school programs in Ohio. She has the ability to play multiple positions on both ends of the floor and brings a winning mentality to Marshall. Each one has been very successful in different basketball situations and they will use their experiences to immediately impact our program."
